Virtual College Fairs

This spring, three non-profit organizations are hosting free virtual college fairs with hundreds of participating institutions of higher learning.
Students (and parents) can hear directly from colleges & universities and ask questions at these events. Students select which sessions to attend. Admissions professionals also offer general knowledge sessions on Navigating the UC & CSU Applications, Writing College Essays, Paying for College, and many more!

Community College Visits
Representatives from Mission College will visit LAHS on Wednesday, February 24 (C-Day) at Noon. Visit Link.
Foothill College will host a two-part virtual series to ensure our seniors have a smooth transition to Foothill College.
DeAnza College will host a two-part virtual series to ensure our seniors have a smooth transition to DeAnza College.

Individual College Advising Meetings
Ms. Price sent out a SignUpGenius link via email to all 11th-grade students. Please ask your student if they have signed up for a 30-minute appointment. If they have not, please ask them to retrieve the email and sign up on the spot. We appreciate your support!
Ms. Price asks students to complete a form with personal information that she will use during the 1:1 college advising meeting. Details are in the student's email.
College Admissions Testing
Over a thousand colleges and universities have extended test-optional admissions policies for the Class of 2022. You can review a list of schools here or check individual school websites for the most up-to-date information.

Los Altos Youth Commission
Is your student a resident of the City of Los Altos and interested in serving on a Youth Commission which advises the City Council on matters relating to teen and youth issues? If so, they can complete the application here: Commission and Committee Application | City of Los Altos California. Applications are due April 14, 2021. Four seats are opening this summer.
Interested individuals are encouraged to attend a meeting of the Commission before applying. Youth Commission website.
